187th Glider Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division

Aubrey was born on December 10, 1928 in Manchester, Alabama.

In August, 1946 at age 17, he enlisted into the US Army in Birmingham, AL and was sent to Ft. Bragg for basic training. Immediately following his training, Aubrey was sent to Washington state and boarded a troop ship headed for Japan.

Aubrey arrived in Sapporo, Okaida, Japan in December, 1946 and served in supply at Camp Crawford during the occupation of Japan. He attended jump school in Japan and kept his $50 a month pay by jumping out of an airplane every three months.

Aubrey was honorably discharged in August, 1948 after serving overseas for two years.
