We love school visits! Every time we visit a school in France, the kids are all so excited to meet the veterans. When the kids from Charles Letot middle school in Bayeaux heard the veterans were coming, they spent months learning about each veteran and prepared a fantastic presentation for them. Each veteran had a chance to speak to a different classroom where the kids were eager to hear their stories.
2 of our veterans, Dorothy Jones and Bob Gibson, buried a time capsule with all the veterans cards in them, along with a few other items from the day, to be opened 10 years from now so future students can learn about their liberators. They even got a visit from the
Michelin man!
That’s a wrap! We are on our home after an incredible 6 days in
#Normandy for the 78th anniversary of
#dday. We visited the American Cemetery at
#OmahaBeach on our last day, and while there, the Patrouille de France did a flyover and
#UtahBeach veteran, Joe Picard, was in the right place at the right time.
